Education is a priority for the Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee. It is our desire that every tribal member, young and old, receive an education that will benefit themselves, their communities, and the Tribe. As an Official State Recognized Tribe, our tribal members are entitled to education aid and scholarships. Below, we have selected financial aid opportunities that can be used by all of our enrolled members. For a letter of recognition, email the tribal office at info@georgiatribeeasterncherokee.com.

At First Nations, we believe reclaiming control over local food systems is a critical step toward ensuring the long-lasting health and economic well-being of Native people and communities. Native-controlled food systems have the potential to increase food production, improve health and nutrition, and eliminate food insecurity in rural and reservation-based communities, while also promoting entrepreneurship and economic development.
The Native Agriculture and Food Systems Investments (NAFSI) Scholarship program supports Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian college students to enter agriculture and food systems fields so that they can better assist their communities with their food systems efforts.
We have been providing Native student scholarship since 1947 and provide scholarships to undergraduate and graduate Native students who are citizens of their Native Nation – whether or not their Nation is recognized by the federal government.
The Association’s scholarships are funded by an endowment from the Elizabeth and Sherman Asche Memorial Scholarship, and the Homborg Scholarship and the Mary Hemenway Memorial Funds.
The Association's scholarships are provided to students twice per year until they graduate, as long as they maintain a 2.5 GPA and attend full-time. Our mission is to support students who are connected to their Native Nation and Native Country and wish to utilize their degree to serve their Nations.
